Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympics game since 1964, the play is very intense and you can keep a volley going for a very long time.

It takes a person that is both physically and mentally fit. Volleyball is a very hard sport, but most people disagree about that statement. People say that volleyball is an easy sport but I beg to differ. For a hitter in volleyball, it takes a lot of skill to be able to find the volleyball in the air, then get your feet-work correct, and use both the core, leg, and arm muscles to jump in the air, find the ball and also while you are doing all that you have to look on the other side of the net to see where the defense is, to try to spike it at an open spot on the court. Also you have to be very quick on your feet because you have to move to the ball in order to “dig” it correctly. A dig is when you pass the ball to the setter and it has to be in the area of the middle of the net or your play will not work out too well.

Volleyball is a team sport and you have to stay together at all times because if one particular person gets flustered or starts to give up then basically the whole team falls apart during the game. Only a few people cannot play the sport by themselves, you need all six players to play well.

  2. I used to think that volleyball was an easy sport, but after reading this, I don't think that anymore. I didn't realize how many muscles you use in volleyball

  3. After watching all of the home games, I realized that you really do need all of your players to act as a team in order to succeed. Out off all sports, I think vollyball is one of the sports that team work is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

  6. Very good point, MK. If a volley ball team doesn't work together then there is no way that they can win a match.

  8. I completely agree on what you are saying, however, you could have made this better by using all positions like the setter, the labero (DS), and just playing defense, serving, and blocking. Tere is way more to it than just that.
